RULES AND REGULATIONS


1.        The licensee is the Edmonton Cystic Fibrosis Society. Information regarding the Hockey Draft can be obtained by contacting:

2.        Contest is open to anyone purchasing a ticket in Alberta with the exception of those less than 18 years of age and the CF 2006 Hockey Draft of Hope Committee members and their immediate families. As well, anyone less than 18 years of age cannot be named on a ticket.

 

3.        To be eligible for the draft, entries must be correctly completed and received by Cystic Fibrosis prior to the start of the first playoff game, which is currently scheduled for Friday, April 21, 2006.

 

4.        There is no limit to the number of entries per person.

 

5.        Only official CF 2006 Hockey Draft of Hope entry forms will be accepted.

 

6.        Tickets are $20.00 each or 3 for $50.00.

 

7.        The Draft will consist of 3,300 tickets (750 single and 2,550 multiple/discounted)

 

8.        The CF 2006 Hockey Draft of Hope is for the 2006 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs only.

 

9.        Completed entry forms will be accepted provided that payment is included, tickets are still available, tickets are completed correctly and submission deadlines are met.  Each confirmed entrant will be notified of their ticket number and player selections. Entrants are responsible to retain a copy of their player selections, in the event of any data entry or other discrepancies.

 

10.     Organizers reserve the right to refuse any entry for reasons such as:

·         Completed incorrectly

·         Received after deadline

·         Paid by NSF cheque

·         Declined by Visa/Mastercard

·         Entry form is illegible

·         Draft is sold out

 

11.     Completed entry forms and tickets will be accepted at:

·        Speedy Auto Centre - 13005 - 97 Street, Edmonton (in person only)

·        Speedy Auto Centre - 9619 McLeod Trail S, Calgary (in person only)

 

12.     Organizers and sponsors are not responsible for any entries lost or delayed in the mail. 

 

13.     Each entrant must select or draft 20 players by marking the appropriate box on the entry form.   Only those players on the entry form are eligible to be selected and no subsitutions will be allowed. If more than 20 players are selected, only the first 20 players will be accepted. Once entry forms are received by Cystic Fibrosis, no additions, deletions or changes will be permitted.

 

14.     Each goal or assist scored by those available players during the playoffs will count as one point. Points will be based upon official NHL statistics only.

 

15.    The CF 2006 Hockey Draft of Hope will offer $20,000.00 in total prize money. Prizes are awarded on the basis of most points accumulated by an entrant's team. The prize distribution is as follows:

16.    Any ties will be broken first by total goals and second by highest plus/minus score. If still tied after this process, the available prize money will be split equally.

 

17.    If a player is traded to another NHL team, his point total will still be included. If a player does not play for any reason or plays below expectations, no compensation will be made.

 

18.     The Hockey Draft standings will be updated at least biweekly on the CF Hockey Hotline - Edmonton (780) 466-2768. This telephone will use an answering machine to provide names & points of the leading entrants plus information to allow other entrants to determine their relative position in the standings. Individual results can be obtained by calling Edmonton at (780) 466-2768 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon each Wednesday; unfortunately no collect calls can be accepted. Standings can also be viewed on the Draft Website and will also be published in The Edmonton Sun following each playoff round.

 

19.     All other enquiries will be handled by mail only. Write to CF 2006 Hockey Draft of Hope, Edmonton Cystic Fibrosis Society, c/o St. James Catholic Elementary School, 7814 - 83 Street, Edmonton AB T6C 2Y8. Please include your ticket number in all correspondence. An independent accounting firm will investigate any entrant complaints that cannot be resolved.

 

20.     Following the publication of winners' names in The Edmonton Sun after each playoff round, other entrants have 14 days to challenge the results. Any such enquiries should be sent to the address given in Rule #19. For AGLC purposes, the official draw dates are approximately:  May 23/06 (Round 1), June 6/06 (Round 2), June 20/06 (Round 3) and July 4/06 (Round 4)

 

21.     Winners have one year from the official draw dates stated in Rule #20 to claim their prize.

 

22.     There is no limit to the number of prizes per entrant but all prizes must be accepted as awarded. By entering the CF 2006 Hockey Draft of Hope, entrants agree to the use of their names and photo.

 

23.     The committee reserves the right to cancel the draft, subject to Alberta Gaming Commission approval, if 1,800 tickets are not sold by 5:00pm on April 14, 2006. In such an event, the entry fee shall be refunded to all entrants who purchased tickets.
